1 THE SUB®
1.1 Where can I buy THE SUB®?
You can buy THE SUB® in France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands and China, either online through the local SUB websites or at selected retailers.
1.2 How long is the power cable?

1.3 What is the difference between THE SUB® HEINEKEN edition and other THE SUB® edition(s)?
The difference lies in the materials they're made of.  THE SUB® Heineken® Edition cover is made of anodised aluminum, the cover of other editions is made of moulded plastic.
1.4 How energy efficient is THE SUB®?
THE SUB® has an energy label "A+".
This means this is one of the most efficient appliance within the home draught system category.
1.5 Is it battery or electricity powered?
THE SUB® is electricity powered at 230 Volts /peak power is at 70 Watts.
1.6 What is THE SUB® made of?
THE SUB® is composed of different materials, dedidated to serve the different functionalities of the appliance. Its cover is made of brushed aluminium for THE SUB® Heineken® edition and moulded plastic for the other editions. 
The appliance inside is a metal cooling tube where THE TORP® will be inserted, with insulation to keep the cold in. Its tap unit is moulded in aluminium for stiffness. 
All materials used in the different parts of THE SUB® comply with applicable norms such as REACH and RoHS II.
1.7 What are the dimensions of THE SUB?
THE SUB® dimensions are (LxWxH): 455x235x326 mm (without drip tray).
1.8 How much does THE SUB weigh?
THE SUB® weight is 6,8 kg.
1.9 Who makes THE SUB?
THE SUB® is manufactured by Krups.
1.10 Does it need to be plugged in all the time it's in use?
Yes. If you've got THE TORP® in THE SUB it needs to be kept plugged in to maintain the correct beer pressure.
1.11 Do I need to buy a tube to connect THE TORP® to THE SUB?
No, each THE TORP® comes with its own tube
1.12 Can I leave THE SUB turned on all the time?
THE SUB should always left turned on when THE TORP® is inside. We recommend unplugging it when there is no THE TORP® inside. We recommend to switch it on again one hour in advance to pre-cool the chamber before next usage.
1.13 What should I do if the light does not turn green after a few hours that I turned on THE SUB?
Check that THE SUB is connected to the power supply and the power button is turned on. If you continue to experience problems, contact us using the form on this page.
1.14 How do I know when my beer is cold enough?
The light on the front of THE SUB will turn green. However, if you pre-cool THE TORP® in the fridge between 6 and 10 hours before loading it in THE SUB, even if the light is still red you can draught a good beer. If you want a perfect cold draught beer wait until the light turns green. If you want to pre-cool your TORP®, set the fridge at the lowest temperature and put THE TORP® on the lowest shelf (this is the coldest area).
1.15 How do I know when THE TORP® is almost empty?
You may notice more foam than usual when THE TORP® is running low. The pump will also have to work longer to pressurize so the pump sound will last longer.
1.16 How long does it take to chill THE TORP®?
We recommend that you pre-chill THE TORP® in the fridge to speed up the cooling down time. From fridge cold it might take up to 1h30 (depending on the fridge) to chill until the light turns green and the beer is at the perfect temperature.
When you load a TORP® properly pre-cooled in the fridge for 6/10 hours, you can have a good draught beer from your THE SUB (even if the light is red). If you want a perfect cold draught beer wait until the light turns green. If you want to pre-cool your TORP®, set the fridge at the lowest temperature and put THE TORP® on the lowest shelf (this is the coldest area).
1.17 Can I use THE SUB as soon as I plug it in?
Yes, but we recommend to switch THE SUB on and then let it cool down for an hour before loading THE TORP®. THE TORP® will then cool down faster so you can drink your extra cool beer sooner.
1.18 Do I have to wait until the light turns green before I pour?
Don’t pour from a warm TORP® because this will create a lot of foam. With the green light you will get a perfect draught beer. However, if you pre-cool THE TORP® in the fridge for 6/10 hours before loading it in THE SUB, even if the light is still red you can draught a good beer. If you want a perfect cold draught beer wait until the light turns green. If you want to pre-cool your TORP®, set the fridge at the lowest temperature and put THE TORP® on the lowest shelf (this is the coldest area).
1.19 If I want to change beer brands, can I take a half empty THE TORP® out of THE SUB and store it in the fridge?
No, once THE TORP® is open you need to keep it in THE SUB with the power turned on to keep the beer inside at the right pressure.
1.20 What kind of glass should I use with THE SUB?
You can use any kind of glass, but we recommend that you keep it small so your beer stays cold and that it's clean and freshly rinsed before you start pouring. (We do sell exclusive Marc Newson THE SUB glasses if you'd like to complete the look.

2.1 There are no THE TORP® stockists near me, can I buy THE TORP® online?

2.3 Will more brands be available in future?
Yes, we plan to introduce new beers over time. We also plan to offer some seasonal or limited edition beers.
2.4 What brands of beer are available?
You can find a full set of beer brands available in our online shop in the selected countries.
2.5 Can I use THE TORP® with other home draught appliances?
No - THE SUB® and THE TORP® can only be used together.
2.6 What are the dimensions of THE TORP®?

2.8 What is the cold indicator on THE TORP® and how does it work?
The cold indicator is a temperature sensitive ink print on THE TORP®, which turns from white to blue when THE TORP® is cool enough to be used. When the indicator has turned dark blue, the beer in THE TORP® has reached 5 degrees and is ready to be poured. You just need to load THE  TORP® in THE SUB® and it can then be served immediately.
2.9 Is THE TORP® recyclable?
Recommendation is to dispose of THE TORP® in an appropriate plastic waste stream. Actual realisation depends on local collection systems and policies in place in a given country. 
THE TORP® is designed for recycling. The PET plastic can be separated and recycled to make bottles or clothing materials.
2.10 How should I store THE TORP®?
Before use, keep THE TORP® in a cool dark place. If there's room in your fridge, keep a spareTORP® chilled and ready to use: set the fridge at the lowest temperature and put THE TORP® on the lowest shelf (this is the fridge's coldest area). 
DO NOT PLACE THE TORP®  IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT, STORE THE TORP®  BELOW 30 degrees and DO NOT FREEZE THE TORP®.
2.11 How much beer is there in THE TORP®?
2,0 litres
2.12 How long can I keep THE TORP®
THE TORP® has a shelf life of 6 months.  The expiry date is printed or stickered on the sleeve on the side of THE TORP®.  
THE TORP® should never be used after its expiry date.
2.13 Can I just open THE TORP® and serve the beer like a can or glass bottle?
No, THE TORP® is specifically designed to be used with THE SUB®. The beer inside THE TORP® needs to be kept under controlled pressure. Otherwise you will not be able to enjoy the beer quality you would expect. Piercing THE TORP® is not recommended as the sudden change in pressure could cause it to rupture.
2.14 What should I do if THE TORP® is leaking?
THE TORP® is a robust packaging, but can leak if frozen or pierced.  If your TORP® was leaking when you received it, please get in touch using the contact form on the top of this page.
2.15 What should I do if I have consumed beer from THE TORP® that has been recalled at a later stage?
We may recall THE TORP® for many reasons, not all of which are health related. If you do have any health concerns, we recommend contacting your doctor.
2.16 The beer I have poured from my TORP® does not taste right. Who should I contact?
Please check the Expiry Date indicated on the side of THE TORP®. If THE TORP® is in date, has not been open for more than 15 days and does not taste well, please get in touch using the contact form on the top of this page.
2.17 Can I just open THE TORP® and serve the beer like a can or glass bottle?
No, THE TORP® is designed to be used with THE SUB. The beer inside THE TORP® needs to be kept under pressure. Piercing THE TORP® is not recommended as the sudden change in pressure could cause it to rupture.
2.18 Can I swap THE TORP® in THE SUB before they're finished?
No, once THE TORP® is loaded, keep THE SUB® switched on and its door closed to maintain pressure and temperature inside THE TORP®.
2.19 How long can I keep THE TORP® in storage?
THE TORP® has a 6 month shelf life. The expiry date is clearly marked on the side of THE TORP®, you should never use THE TORP® that is out of date.
2.20 If I want to change beer brands, can I take a half empty THE TORP® out of THE SUB® and store it in the fridge?
No, once THE TORP® is loaded, keep THE SUB® switched on and its door closed to maintain pressure and temperature inside THE TORP®.
2.21 How should I store THE TORP®?
Keep THE TORP® in a cool dark place. If there's room in your fridge, keep a spare THE TORP® chilled and ready to use: set the fridge at the lowest temperature and put THE TORP® on the lowest shelf (this is the coldest area). Do not place it in direct sunlight, store below 30 degrees and do not freeze.
2.22 How long does it take to chill THE TORP®?
In THE SUB® cooling down THE TORP® takes 10 to 16 hours (depending on THE TORP® starting temperature). 
In the fridge, cooling down THE TORP® takes 6 to 10 hours (depending on THE TORP® starting temperature and the fridge temperature setting).
2.23 How long can I keep THE TORP® once it's open?
The beer is guaranteed to stay fresh for 15 days if THE SUB is left turned on.
2.24 How do I load THE TORP® into THE SUB®?
Pull off the top of the sleeve along the dotted line. Then take off the cap and take the tube out. Push the tube in the opening of THE TORP® until you hear a "click" sound. Slide THE TORP® into the cooling chamber. Make sure you push THE TORP® completely to the end of appliance.  Then open the tap cover and guide the tube into place. Snap the beer valve in its position in the tap head. Close the tap cover, close and lock THE SUB® door and leave to chill. You are now ready to draught. 2.25 How do I know when THE TORP® is almost empty?
When you've reached the last glass of THE TORP® you may notice more foam than usual. When THE TORP® is really empty, the beer flow just stops. 
Make sure you have an extra TORP® pre-chilled in your fridge ready to be loaded!
2.26 Do I need to buy a tube to connect THE TORP® to THE SUB®?
No, each TORP® comes with its own tube. If you have a broken or damaged tube, please contact your local consumer services or us the contact form on the top of this page.
2.27 Can I put THE TORP® in the freezer to speed up chilling?
No. THE TORP® should not go below zero degrees as this may damage the packaging and cause beer leakage.
